Non-executive Chairman (59)
Bob Davies was appointed to the Board of Biffa Plc as a non-executive director in May 2006 and on demerger from Severn Trent Plc was appointed non-executive Chairman. Prior to joining Biffa, Bob was Chief Executive of Arriva plc, the transport services group, from 1998 until April 2006. Prior to this he was with East Midlands Electricity Plc for five years as Finance Director then Chief Executive, before which he was Finance Director of Ferranti International Plc and Waterford Wedgwood plc. His earlier career included various senior positions with the Ford Motor Company. Bob was appointed as a non-executive Director of British Energy Group plc in May 2006 and is currently a non-executive director of Barratt Developments PLC. He also chairs the Board of Governors of the University of Sunderland and in February 2007 was appointed chairman of the Confederation of British Industry North-East Council.

Martin Bettington

Chief Executive Officer (55)
Martin Bettington has been with the Group for over 17 years and served as Managing Director of Biffa Waste Services Limited for 15 years. Martin was appointed to the Board of Biffa Plc as Chief Executive Officer in January 2001. As part of the demerger process, Martin resigned from his position as an executive director of Severn Trent Plc, a position he had held for over eleven years. Martin has a BSc (Hons) (Mech. Eng.) from the City University and an MBA from Manchester Business School.

Tim Lowth

Finance Director (48)
Tim Lowth has been with the Group since 1991 and served as Finance Director of Biffa Waste Services Limited for six years. Tim was appointed to the Board of Biffa Plc as Finance Director in August 2001. Tim qualified as a chartered accountant with Deloitte Haskins & Sells and also worked for Coopers & Lybrand Deloitte. Tim is a trustee and chairman of the Finance and Audit Committee of the Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust. Tim has a BSc in Zoology from the University of Bristol.

Roger Payne

Senior Independent Non-executive Director (59)
Roger Payne was appointed to the Board of Biffa Plc as a non-executive director in August 2006 and on demerger from Severn Trent Plc became Senior Independent Non-executive Director and chairman of the Audit Committee. Prior to joining Biffa, Roger was Finance Director of Rentokil Initial Plc, from 2001 to 2005. Roger is also a non-executive director (and audit committee chairman) of LogicaCMG plc and a non-executive director of Nelson and Russell Holdings Ltd. Roger is a chartered certified accountant (FCCA) and an independent member of the remuneration committee of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

Angie Risley

Non-executive Director (49)
Angie Risley was appointed to the Board of Biffa Plc as a non-executive director in August 2006 and on demerger from Severn Trent Plc was appointed to chair the Remuneration Committee. Angie is currently Group Human Resources Director of Lloyds TSB and was formerly Group Human Resources Director and a member of the board of Whitbread PLC from May 2004 to May 2007.

Gareth Llewellyn

Non-executive Director (43)
Gareth was appointed to the Board of Biffa Plc as a non-executive Director in August 2006 and on demerger from Severn Trent Plc was appointed to chair the Health and Safety and Environment Committee. Gareth is currently Group Director of Corporate Responsibility at National Grid plc. Prior to this Gareth was Head of Risk at the Environment Agency. Gareth is a non-executive director of both National Grid Property Holdings Limited and the Corporate Responsibility Group Limited.
